If you’ve packed the clubs, you’re sorted. Waimate has a well-kept parkland course close to town. Maungati is more rural, more old-school, and worth the short drive.
The course and greens are kept in top shape by a full-time greenkeeper and a steady crew of volunteers. It’s a tidy, well-regarded course, lined with mature trees and open views.
The signature hole is the 18th - a 410 metre par 4. Wide and straight at first glance, but don’t get ahead of yourself. Par is earned.

This picturesque nine hole, 18 tee golf course is 54 km north of Waimate. The course offers a classic kiwi country golfing challenge. The links are in a valley with extinct volcano Mt Horrible to the north, and the Hunters Hills to the south.
