Browse stalls from local growers and makers, pick up fresh produce and locally made goods, hunt through vintage and second-hand finds, and stock up on provisions for your travels.

Grab a coffee, have a wander and mingle with the locals.

If you’re visiting Waimate for the weekend, it’s great way to start your Saturday.

Then keep wandering. Cross the road to the Salvation Army Family Store and start working your way through Waimate’s excellent collection of second-hand and vintage stores as you head into town.

Stop for lunch or another coffee at one of the local eateries, browse the shops and pop into the Waimate Art Gallery.

You could quite easily lose a few hours. Which is rather the point.
