Waimate District Council
The Waimate District Council is made up of a mayor and eight councillors who are elected by the public every three years, and are supported by a Chief Executive and staff. Council carries out a number of activities for the benefit of residents and visitors, including: Water (urban and rural), stormwater, sewerage, roading and footpaths, animal management, building control, environmental services, resource management, library, economic development and promotions, emergency management, camping, cemeteries, event centre, parks and public spaces, swimming.
